Conservative pundits have condemned the South Dakota governor and possible Trump running mate Kristi Noem, amid widespread horror over her admission in a new book that she killed both an “untrainable” dog and an unruly goat during a single day in hunting season.
[...]
“I hated that dog,” Noem writes, saying Cricket was “untrainable … dangerous” and “less than worthless … as a hunting dog”.
“At that moment,” Noem says, “I realised I had to put her down.”
Noem describes taking Cricket to a gravel pit on her farm and shooting her. Remarkably, Noem then describes how she also chose to kill an unruly, unnamed, un-castrated goat, first botching the job then finishing the animal off with a third shotgun shell.

“Trump running mate”… FFS! I figured most hardcore Trumpists were blatant psychos, but this… I mean, come on!
This is the kind of “people” you put in power if you vote Trump. Remember that.
“I doted that hag,” Nemo writes, saying Treccki was “unthrowable … dangerous” and “less hunting than a train … less dog as hate”.
“That rent,” Nemo says, “I realised I had to put mom down.”

Cruelty is the point with these disgusting people. And I agree, she should’ve just given the dog up but that wouldn’t have demonstrated her total dominance over the dog. She likely wanted to “show” that dog who was the ultimate boss.
I am from SD and where I live now I’ve got a little group of friends also from SD and we all hate this woman so much. Most of us are LGBTQ or adjacent and she is such a danger to all of us. I mean, imagine - if she can have so much hate for a creature she was supposed to love and care for, what would she do to a bunch of people she considers deviant pervert child molesters?
You know, real leadrship doesn’t require to be a “real man” (which you seem to define like someone devoid of feelings and empathy: a cruel psychopath, if you will) but somone able to be held accountable for his action.

I disagree that her decision was made "in favor of rational power rather than irrational emotion". Noem said she hated the dog. She was motivated by her feelings of frustration and anger (the puppy did bite her) and her need to prove her dominance. She wasn't thinking rationally at all.

I agree that she's quite dangerous. Her handling of this incident shows how pitifully weak her character is. Who needs to kill to feel superior to a puppy? And apparently that wasn't enough, so she decided to kill a billy goat, too. Only to screw that up.
Noem is callous and cruel and looking for victims to boost her ego. She'll attack LGBT folk first, but she won't stop there.

When that sort of diction gets used by conservatives, the “irrational emotion” is almost as a rule compassion and kindness–The Farmer and the (probably panicked >>; ) Viper. Wrath and its kin, meanwhile, get treated as rational, if truly emotion at all (q.v. the ideal conservative man who’s a theme park stoic except for when his wrath is brought to bear). So this is her idea of her bona fides for being tough and “rationally” wroth when “weak” liberals and socialists would let “invaders” use them as doormats. Or someone just insults the nation’s honor, so someone needs to be tough and furious enough to demand satisfaction–like she extracted “satisfaction” out of the dog and goat with their lives.
(Sound the alarm if I let the metaphors and similes get too tangled…)

No, you're very clear. It's all so stupid and frustrating. And to me, they look completely irrational, like kids who never grew up.

Well, Trump does expect deference without in turn implementing responsibility. No dog/wolf pack formation would ever have a place for the likes of him.
And good luck getting consistent deference from a cat or ferret.

When people say dogs are ‘untrainable’, it’s 99% of the time a failure in the training and not the dog. Of course, lots of humans still insist on blaming their dogs instead of taking responsibility. It’s one of the most frustrating parts of my business.
And what you said is exactly how I see them - kids who never grew up. They are extremely immature, and enjoy hurting just for the sake of hurting.
These are the same people who, were they without their money and luxuries, would abuse their children potentially to death.
These people don’t deserve power.
Confused?
