I always feel it’s nice to live in a country where religious homeschooling will lead to your children getting taken away from you.

I completely agree. Children do have rights, such as the right to adequate nutrition, healthcare, and education. This why child abuse is a crime. This is why CPS exists.

As an aside, I am fascinated by parallels between modern fundamentalist and ancient Mesopotamian beliefs. They considered humanity to be the property of the gods who had created us, with no rights at all, in a disturbing reflection of fundamental religious beliefs today.

They don't belong to anyone, but deserve the support of everyone and a place in society. Education helps, so do social services when parental support is deficient or harmful. Imprisoning them at home because of your own mental delusions may also be harmful to them. They may even decide to leave or to stay away from you as an adult when they realize it.

...meanwhile, education is not only compulsory elsewhere, but is seen as a patriotic duty.

Those leaving their universities consider it a duty to rape your country's commercial, financial, industrial, intelligence & military databases.
