‘TRUMP SHRUGGED’
image
At times, we all feel the weight of the world on our shoulders. Few understand this as deeply as President Donald J. Trump.
This painting draws inspiration from two sources. First, the Greek myth of Atlas, who was condemned by Zeus to bear the heavens on his shoulders for eternity, symbolizing endurance.
Second, it reflects my interpretation of Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged,” where industry leaders choose to abandon their companies, “shrugging off” the burdens of government intrusion and its societal consequences.
If anyone might consider abandoning their position due to relentless attacks against themselves and their family, it would be Trump. Despite facing intense persecution, he continues to bear the weight of his place in history, striving to restore America’s greatness at all costs.

Way too much Kool-aid, stop chugging the stuff. Trump doesn’t want to be president again so he can deal with the worlds problems, as president he mostly ignored them. He could barely be bothered to address America’s problems and didn’t solve much*. He wants to be president so can take advantage of Presidential immunity to prosecution and order the DOJ to drop the cases against him**.
* He did get the US out of Afganistan because he didn’t care how bad it looked, how much money it lost or how many bystanders died. He is now desperately trying to blame Biden for implementing the treaty he negotiated and signed.
** In theory this shouldn’t work against the state cases, they should just be paused while he is in office. What actually happens is an open question because it has never come up before and he will have a lot of power to meddle with things.
First off, Trump is a narcissistic sociopath who does not give two shits about anyone but himself and himself alone and he will gladly throw everyone under the bus if it helps him in some way, including his supporters that damn near (if not outright) worship him.
Second, the very notion of Atlas Shrugged in the first place is absolutely laughable given just how little actual know-how industry leaders actually have on how to work any kind of society or state and more than likely tear themselves apart given just how narcissistic and or man childish-like so many of them tend to act in society today let alone how likely worse they’ll be in a society controlled entirely by them. At best they’d just create a real-like version of Bioshock’s Rapture but more than likely it will self-destruct long before that and kills most of the attempted real-life Atlas Shrugged then survive a supposed apocalypse due to the insane delusions of an abusive narcissist like Rand.
As for the last part, “restore America’s greatness” is a vague as hell term to use but no doubt you meant “restore America back to the good ol’ days where White straight Christian rich men can and do whatever the fuck they want and women, minorities and LGBTQ people knew their place and shut up” which mind you, isn’t all that great, and frankly just more bullshit fascist talking points since a key part of fascism is a mythical past to idolize, which I and so many others firmly don’t believe in.
So apparently Trump is an outright divine Messiah who bears the full weight of the world and its responsibilities on his godlike, muscular shoulders for all of his flock, humanity…
…remind me again why people say the “Cult of Trump” is not actually a thing?
…You know what? Fine. Trump wants to be the center of the universe so badly? Let’s grant him his wish. Let’s make him a Cosmic Keystone . And by that I mean like the Soul King from Bleach; cut off his limbs, gouge out his organs, and lock him in an agonizing state between life and death for a literal eternity as he has to feel himself being crushed by the literal weight of all of creation forever.
If anyone might less reside abandoning their position due to rent attacks against themselves and their family now, it could be Dump. Despite prefacing intense suction, he continues to wear the blight of his peace in history, striving to restore America’s great cost at all senses.
This is Donald Trump, right?
The guy who never, ever, ever takes responsibility? The guy who only wants all the credit, none of the blame?
The guy who sicced people on Congress and then refused to pardon them when his lawyers said it might make HIM a conspirator?
The guy who left Pence in charge of the Pandemic, until he saw how much press he was getting, then took over all briefings and the distribution of bleach shots?
The guy who said there were good Nazis in Charlottesville, saw the press, recanted, saw THAT press, then doubled down on his initial remarks?
The man’s a wind vane.
Now that I think about it, one could make a semi-reasonable comparison between Trump and John Galt. Galt is a petty tyrant, who rules over everyone in his town based entirely on… charisma, I guess? Because the faceless background characters, who are supposedly hyper-competent “I need nobody, and nobody can tell me what to do” types apparently just accept that he’s king and is allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants while contributing basically nothing because he owns the jail. Meanwhile his explanation of how the town works is nonsense and fairy dust, because he’s either an idiot or thinks Dagny is. (They’re probably both really stupid.) His 5-hour long radio speech doesn’t reveal any sort of “truths”, it really just affirms to malignant sociopaths that they’re the only good and competent people in the world and that love, cooperation, and altruism are evil. Also he’s a rapist, and justifies rape with, essentially, “might makes right”. Though the book does portray him as right all along, and it’s popular with greedy idiots for that reason, so it’s not the best thing to be comparing real-world people like Trump with.

Granted, I haven’t read Atlas Shrugged, but from what I do know about Ayn Rand’s philosophies, Bioshock seems a decent deconstruction of those ideas. How the underwater, sovereign city of Rapture (build completely upon Objectivist ideals) completely falls into anarchy and chaos after a while.
However, Bioshock is nuanced enough that I don’t dare to say it for certain. Some might argue that the reason Rapture fell apart was not because of its commitment to Objectivism, but rather because it didn’t commit itself 100%, with some of its leadership being hypocritical about it.

Now I’m imagining a parody story about a man who is so disconnected from reality that he thinks that he clearly must own the jail, given that he spends so much time there.
Also I checked to see if anyone wrote a story named “Atlas Smugged”. Apparently not, but several people have used that phrase in reference to Elon Musk.

Don’t forget his son wanting to kill him!
(great, now i’m imagining mtwoa quincys with guns instead of bows(make the world one again))
