Speaking of cancelling art, it would seem the wild success of the Flurks NFT has caused quite a stir. So much in fact, the art was de-listed on NFT markets OpenSea and Rarible without explanation.

Thankfully the story has gotten picked up by news outlets. In fact, if you or someone you know would like to publish this story, hit me up.

If a person who makes art is particularly vile, people don't like housing or showing off their work. That plus whoever owns the museum can display what they like. It's not really an opinion based thing, museums have collections, and can cycle through the items they want shown.

Now, if we are talking "art" to include stuff like your stuff, your partnering with Vox Day at Arkhaven and the cream of the crop that sight has to offer... it's because you suck. The gag a comic strips are poorly drawn with shitty gags and the actual comics are terrible at both story and art. That's why we never see your stuff take off.

On behalf of art, I take offense to you calling what you puke onto your Wacom as “art.” Andy Warhol is art. Da Vinci is art. Yoshitaka Amano is art. George Perez is art. You, you sad piddling prat, are to art what bathroom graffiti is to James Joyce and the long-form epic poem. I imagine that your villain origin story is, some girl, or black guy, or gay guy, or triumvirate of said people, did or said something you took umbrage with, most likely mere dint of their existence, and having no other outlet for your impotent fury at their “otherness,” opted instead to take cartooning out behind the woodshed and re-enact scenes from Deliverance upon it's fetid corpse. When your opinion is “these people should not be allowed to live, and I would gladly bludgeon them to death with the raging stiffy the very thought of killing them gives me,” then no, duckfucker, your opinion should not be shared and your works should be tossed into the deepest hole in the internet's darkest oubliette.

In a lot of cases, art can very well be enjoyed and understood without the context of the creator or their opinions. If I see a cool painting, my first thought isn't to research the artist to find out what political stance they have, I'll just enjoy it. I have probably enjoyed plenty of art made by people I would not like if I ever met them, nor would consider to be decent people. However, it seems like plenty of right wing artists are so focused on shoving their opinions in their art that the actual quality of it takes a hit, and why should any museum or gallery be interested in art where the art itself isn't even the main focus of the artist?

I interpreted Duckquack’s dumb cartoon as another cartoon involving “Political Correctness Gone Mad”. A ton about stuff like people who, in their zeal of taking down (rightfully so) monuments to pro-slavery figures, decide to topple a statue of Thomas Jefferson (who, while he did own slaves, is not being honored for that awfulness but rather the good stuff he did and wrote). Duckquack’s thinking stuff like what happened with one Jefferson statue is a huge, widespread thing, therefore, “all destruction of monuments to bigots = bad”.

Then he adds the rest of the text and it’s him having the gal to compare himself to DaVinci, while rambling something about cryptocurrency.

Well, it kinda is. RWArt isn’t ‘art’ nearly as much as it’s yet another attempt to flog right-wing ideology.

There’s no ideology message being flogged in the Mona Lisa. Da Vinci isn’t saying women shouldn’t show teeth when they smile, or should keep their mouths shut, or should only show X-much cleavage. It can be enjoyed completely independently of the message being spread.

Like Trump’s memoirs of his time as president. Every president since, IIRC, Truman, has written and sold his memoirs. But no major publisher will touch Trump’s book. There’s just too many problems, chief being that he’s going to be flogging his Big Lie yet again. No one who’s a responsible literary agent will offer this pile of crap to the public.

Exactly like that, no one’s saying you dont’ have a right to your opinions or your little drawings, just that they don’t want to have anything to do with opinionated crap without redeeming value.

There’s a difference between art, whose main purpose is esthetics, although it could propagate messages (see religious art), and propaganda, which mainly purport to defend an idea. Given this, it’s expected propaganda for odious ideas such as yours might not be so popular.

There’s a difference between censoring art and associated views - which you are still quite free to make despite your views being rooted in promoting provable falsehoods, espousing unsupportable slander, advocating the restriction of rights, and even obliquely suggesting various forms of harm to befall others - and a distributor dropping you like a handful of burning shit because they don’t want to be associated with your awful views.

Apart from a staggering lack of originality alt-right “art” consists of appropriating what others have made, see “Pepe” for a prime example. And doing so simply to create a vehicle for their views to be presented in the bluntest, most heavy-handed of terms.

this is why we used to get a lot of bad anime from deviant art years ago arguing some sort of bias against fundie /conservative “art”. You fucking suck. AND the argument always screamed how you HAVE to be accepted while ripping off others. And no sense of humor, just a path to an insult.

Leonardo de Vinci didn’t use any controversial practices as part of his work nor did his art present controversial views. He just painted pretty pictures for his patrons and doodled from real life.
