The media, corporate shills, and billion-dollar companies want you to believe Gamergate 2 is a far-right harassment campaign against women, LGBTQ+, and marginalized groups. That’s a lie. Gamergate 2 is about standing up and saying we are not buying your shit. Make a good game or suffer. It is about taking back gaming for gamers. It’s about make games as entertainment again, free from your activism, propaganda, and agenda-pushing. It’s about rejecting the censorship and intentionally bad content developers try shove down our throats to spite the people who BUY the games. We’re not the vocal minority. We’re not left ... or right, far or otherwise. We’re driven by our love for games, not your hate of some of us. We’re adults and children, men and women, and gays trans furrys and everything else you can think of.. all backgrounds, races, and beliefs. We don’t care about your personal life, your politics, or what you believe. We just want you to make good games, entertainment that can be enjoyed... by everyone... after all... isn't that what inclusion really means.

Counterargument; a lot of those “woke garbage” games that are subjected to harassment campaigns against women, LGBTQIA+, and other minorities, ARE good games. They may not all be GREAT games, but few of them deserve the sheer vitriol the far-right chuds threw at them. You people also said the same crap about Cyberpunk and Oblivion Remake and Dead Space Remake; all for the most minute of “woke” content added to it. And guess what, a vast majority still loves them.
I’ll take Veilguard as an example. Ask the average person who played it, they’ll say that while not mindblowing it was still a surprisingly well-polished game with fun gameplay and almost no bugs, an reasonably enjoyable story, and a good ending to the franchise; regardless of all the behind the scenes Hell that EA made Bioware go through. Ask the far-right chuds and they ALWAYS bring up the exact same dead horse argument: “So anyway, I’m non-binary”…
That one single line (not even of the main story) is what all those far-right chuds needed to start harassment campaigns against Bioware (not even the scum at EA that gave them impossible deadlines) and pretty much kill the (beloved) Dragon Age and Mass Effect series for the forseeable future.
No, what we should REALLY focus on as lovers of games is stuff like the “Stop Killing Games” petition. Actual legal pushback to stop big Corpos from taking our digital games (that we paid for) away from us whenever the fuck they feel like it. That is an actual threat to the future of gaming that needs solving.
Yes, and we can definitively trust Neo-Enron to be a good, legitimate, ethical, environmentally responsible energy company.
Those whining about women in “Gears of War”. Fact: a female character appears in the arcade game “Halo: Fireteam Raven”. Also in “DOOM: The Dark Ages”, a woman who is a senior commander of the Night Sentinels and helps the Slayer, posesses great power. Way before then, Soldier 76 in “Overwatch”. Jane Doe in “Zenless Zone Zero” is clearly bi. Krystal - an addition to Ol’ Ninty’s game franchise by UK’s Rare - decades ago. Lara Croft in recent “Tomb Raider” games. ‘Skanda’? More like S-Karen .
Now you know how others felt not so many years ago now the turns have tabled with what is Gamergrate II: Electric Boogaloo.

Yeah, we need stuff like “Stop Killing Games” before every gaming company starts acting like Nintendo. “Oh, you prefer our old games to our newer ones? TOO BAD, we’re going to make them harder to find so you HAVE to buy the new ones!”
The left are not taking gamergate 2 seriously. It is a crappy straight to video sequel with none of the charm of the original. Which had no charm anyway.
Anyway the problem with many modern AAA games isn't the politics they push or the wokeness but the greedy monetization practices, the buggy half finished games, the pay to win models. You want to blame the politics when those don't make a game bad.
We also want good games, only we are focusing on the actual flaws.

To my old shame, I was actually a cohost for one of the top Furry podcasts back in the day. And yeah, so much support for Gamergate in the community at the time. Just a rabid belief that the womz were coming to kill video gaming and Western Culture (TM) as we know it.
Gamergate 2 is even more ridiculous than the first installment. Just like it, the entire thing all boils down to a bunch of fragile, entitled, privilege-drunk assholes upset that people not exactly like them receive representation in video games.

I would add payment processors trying to censor platforms, such as forcing itch.io to delist entire categories of games. Visa et al. shouldn’t prevent their clients to use their money to buy legal goods and services nor should they force their clients from refraining from selling legal goods and services because some reactionaries oppose it.
Confused?
