Honestly the trans issue is not even one of the top ten issues that I vote for. I don't think about it and don't let it dictate who I vote for.
I am voting for who I think will move this country forward, not backwards. That's why I vote Democrat.
Yāknow, Iām trans myself, and I know damned well that a lack of support and hostility towards me for existing does not bode well for your mental health. Hell, Iāve even had to deal with intrusive and distressing thoughts, and judgments about myself, that are obviously not true.
As much as I support LGBTQIA+ rights, thatās not the first thing I look for when voting in general. What I am looking for first and foremost is someone who will crack down harder on crime and make me feel safer again; you know like how the Republican Party was known as the party of ālaw and orderā once upon a time. However, considering the Republican party has now become nothing more than the Cult of Trump, a known criminal who CONSTANTLY uses the partyās resources to escape Justice, I hope you can understand why I SPIT upon whatās left of the Republican party.
Iām not American, but if I was that alone would make me vote Democrat for decades to come.
I just kinda wonder why transphobes get so worked up about the whole thing. Like, how does people being transgender impact your life? They always complain about trans women competing in womenās sports, for example. OK, thatās a topic to have some discussion about for sureā¦but unless youāre involved in said sport yourself, so what? Iāve never been an athlete of any sort myself, but I enjoy following the exploits of the teams I root for because itās a diversion to me. Iām gonna watch the defending NCAA football champion Michigan Wolverines play their first game of the season tomorrow night, and for those 3 hours or soā¦.nothing else matters.
OK, that mighta kinda went off on a tangent slightly, lolā¦.but Go Blue! Also, Iām waiting to hear the return of one of my favorite lines from the TV broadcast of a game from last year, when the guy who was the backup quarterback last year and maybe is the starter now, Alex Orji. Because they are fascist and fascism is an emotionally based argument for a sense of proper order. And what could possibly be more ādisorderedā than someone not abiding by a gender binary? Since fascists have to have an enemy to destroy they amplify the issue and demonize.
Since theyāre speaking from a place of emotion, no amount of data and no amount of personal testimonies will sway them.

Just to give you some peace of mind: most of the apparent ārise in crimeā is a) not real, but fearmongering (mostly by the right, but even liberals dabble in it from time to time), crime has been going down for decades now, especially in the West (interestingly correlating with lead being phased out of fuel and other goods), it is less severe in less āhard on crimeā states like Norway and b) being āhard on crimeā usually does almost nothing to actually combat it, since it ignores the main sources for crime being a thing in the first place:
