All I have to say is, Trump thinks he can end “birthright citizenship” through an executive order. Yeah, that’s actually a thing he’s said just not too long ago. I guess never mind that that’s literally IN THE FUCKING CONSTITUTION….

The “citizenship clause” of the 14th Amendment:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

The Presidential Records Act does not grant a security clearance. As I understand it, Biden did not extend a security clearance for RUMP after he left office. Nor did RUMP ask for one. So, no, RUMP did not have a legal right to possess classified documents, even if he’d secured them properly.

Whataboutism noted, discarded for a faulty premise. You don’t have to be the President to have a clearance, to have access to classified.

They’re charging Trump under the Espionage Act, so whether the docs are classified or not is actually completely irrelevant. Not that it’s stopped Trump from screaming he declassified everything…

Not sure that classification is irrelevant. Classification is based on how dangerous the information is to US Security, and the Espionage Act covers mishandling information that’s at hreat to US Security. Kinda hard to separate them.

He’s being charged under the Espionage Act because he stole top secret documents - things related to our nuclear weapons, etc - and 1) specifically showed them to people who have no business looking at them (Kid Rock, for instance) and 2) left them in places where anyone could get to them.

I think <@KeithInc.> is right that this has a lot to do with classification. If the Orange Nazi hadn’t stolen top secret documents, we’d be treating this like we’ve treated the other people who’ve been found to have documents (Biden, Pence, etc).

So it isn’t laws but the President’s will that’s supreme in the USA? Of course it’s SOP in a banana republic.
