Blackwashing infects every aspect of our society because all of our myths, legends and even Saturday morning cartoons reflected our past and the fact our civilization was once about whiteness and promoting whiteness.

Now? It’s about de-emphasizing whiteness and inserting blackness where it never existed. Even in Eternia. Even in Masters of the Universe.

Because whites don’t have the power anymore.

Not this is about He-Man, who is still a blue-eyed, blond-haired white guy. It's his far-off ancestor who is black...like many white dudes are.

I don’t see any issue with changing ethnicity or gender of characters in adaptations when it fits well with the story: for exemple Joan Watson in Elementary looks like a good character, along with Passepartout and Abigail Fix in the latest Around the World in 80 Days, but what happened to Domovoi Butler in Artemis Fowl, less so.

Kinda want there to be a Three Musketeers with a black aristocrat patterned after Dumas’ father. Break the accusations of blackwashing off in several asses’ asses.
