Schools need to open in the fall.
Children are extremely unlikely to catch this virus and even if they do they have virtually no risk of mortality.
If doctors, nurses and supermarket workers can work, teachers can too.

well, even if all that’s true, the children ain’t the only ones being put at risk, are they? There’s faculty, staff, etc, not to mention the bus drivers and such…
To hell with all of them, is that it??
Younger children are a much lower risk of dying, but a much greater risk of developing long-term (and possibly permanent) heart, lung, and/or kidney damage. And if they get infected, due to the possibility of transmitting to their parents, a higher risk of becoming orphans . While there’s going to be a lasting social effect of kids basically missing around a year of school, I strongly suspect that generation would eventually come to resent it more if they didn’t.

Or, more likely, have someone else to blame when there's another spike and we would need another lockdown.
You know the children can get others sick right? And they themselves can suffer from Covid

The goal of lockdown is to avoid mass death. Having supermarket workers stay home would end in starvation, which would defeat the purpose. Teachers, while they’re definitely important in the long term, will not result in mass death even if we just took a year off of school.

Maybe, but I think it could be as simple as trying to appeal to all the suburban moms whose support he's losing: "Tired of the kids hanging around the house? I made sure you could send them back to school! Time for a bubble bath with wine and candles, or whatever it is you chicks do!"
Stupid, of course, when the kids get sick and the moms themselves start dying; but Trump doesn't think more than 30 seconds ahead anyway.
Dying isn’t the only risk, lifelong complications also develop and they’re the more common problem. Of course, with the way America’s hospitals work any such problem that requires constant care is no better than a death sentence by the time your money runs out or your insurance provider stalls you to death.
And the doctors, supermarket staff, the “essential workers” you refer to? They’re risking their lives and many have died. They’re working because if they don’t the rest of us are dead. Without doctors the disease is not contained, there’s no progress on preventative measures let alone a cure. Without the oft-overlooked wage slaves stocking the shelves in supermarkets the average person starves. There’s a reason they’re called “essential” workers.
I get the feeling you’re not thinking about children’s futures when you make this demand, you just want to pawn your kids off for a little while.
In the middle of all this I still can’t stop thinking about the anti-vaxxers and how they say any chance your child could die or develop autism from vaccines is too much… now we’ve got people - and I’ll just bet the overlap is staggering - saying the risk’s just fine as along as they can get their nails done, kids “probably” won’t die, or outright demanding that we “sacrifice the weak” and just kill people off. Something that I can’t help but resent a little more when I think about the fight to get universal healthcare in the US and the demented fever dreams being pushed like “death panels” and now that the tiniest bit of pressure’s on and the actually sensible ideas were rejected out of hand for reasons I cannot begin to fathom the same people who repeat those scare chords are frigging eager to press a pillow down on their grandma.
So. You want to force the kids of all ages to go back to school, which is famous for being a petri dish. What then will you say when half the kids come down with the C Virus, passing it on to their parents/families, their teachers & the school faculty? The schools will all be forced to close again & we’ll be back to square one. And that doesn’t even factor in how many students/staff/family members die from it. Are right wing majini simply incapable of seeing anything past the scope of their crackpot conspiracy theories, or are they just plain stupid?
I’ll never understand why anyone would choose to believe such obviously ridiculous nonsense, like some government manufacturing a plague. To what end? To make Pig Vomit look incompetent? As if he needs anyone’s assistance to do that. His deployment of his Schutzstaffel to Portland & the other cities that will follow is nothing more than a badly executed distraction attempt; he’s just trying to distract us from his passive genocide with the plague. It’s not working.
The 'Terrific Guy' of your precious Donald Fart said today that the way things are re. Coronavirus will go on well into next year. And considering how that virus has skyrocketed in the US, all it takes is another way for it to be transmitted to happen again here in Britain.
I notice you're using Twitter, OP.
Well: unlike a more responsible president who'll have his hands full with having to clear up the mess, the one responsible for such will be able to play with that more: but then, as it's currently Twittering while Rome burns...!
Confused?
