Yeah … no! Blacks were over the whole history of America (and the rest of the world) abused and marginalized. Bringing them up to speed on an economical front would at least be a sensible thing since money makes right in capitalism

The thing is, I can understand why he has the opinions on race that he does - he was raised by devoutly religious grandparents who taught him that hard work raises people up, so he naturally assumes that anyone who isn't doing awesome is just lazy. It is, from his perspective, a perfectly logical conclusion to reach. It's also wrong on it's head, a logical conclusion based on a faulty premise. And baffling, his grandparents must have faced racists at some point, how did they explain that shit to him?
