“Hellfire is actually the fire of God's love and glory.”
Oh, wonderful. Another Stockholm Report on how infinite torture is a loving act.
“It's proof of His presence which can be sensed even in Hell, because He is omnipresent.”
See, ALL i’ve been asking for, for the last 40+ years, is some solid evidence of God, a reason to believe, and the first opening in my schedule for that evidence will be (checks calendar) Eternity.
“That's why the inhabitants of Hell feel extreme pain from this fire... because it's the love and glory of God cast down upon these unfortunate souls who have decided to forever hate and despise their Creator.”
A lot of victim blaming, here, don’t you think? I question God. I question if someone described as omnibenevolent can use suffering to achieve his goals. I question if any sane creator could possibly have suffering AS a goal.
And here you bootlickers keep telling me it is, and it’s a positive thing.
Cue the animated power-barf emoji.
“It's proof that God loves all of his Creation, even if they've descended into Hell, and has not stopped loving them.”
Maybe he could just lovingingly ignore me like a disappointed grandfather?
I mean, he’s omniscient, he KNOWS that his love is causing suffering, why doesn’t he change something? Forgive the sinners, at least.
“ He loves them so much He's willing to give people what they so choose instead of forcing them to go the right way.”
He doesn’t have to FORCE anything. He could just say, ‘Eh, close enough.’
Maybe set up the Mormon concept of Heaven.
Three paradises. The sinner Heaven is so glorious, it make Earth seem like Hell. The Christain Heaven is so much better than 1st Heaven that it makes 1st Heaven seem like Hell. And MOrmon Heaven is SOOOOOO much better than plain-ol’-christain heaven that it makes that heaven look like Hell.
This attitude, the belief that Hell is good, the effort to acknowledge Hell without seeing God as a monster, that’s a big part of why i’m an atheist. Y’all are fucked in the head, in the heart, and in the empathy.
