There aren’t more LGBTQI+ people than there were before. The thing is, it’s much safer and more socially acceptable to come out than it was. Things like that make a huge difference. I’m sure at least some of the bigots spreading this garbage know this, they just don’t care about facts, they care about “truth”.

No eventually it will stop. The reason why the percentage is growing now is because LGBTQ people are more comfortable coming out. That two percent growth won't be consistent as after a while everyone will be out and no one will have to hide anymore.
Straights are never going to be a minority. Stop freaking out.

Also, this is a dumb, hasty generalization .
And it’s absolutekly not related to the greater tolerance. I mean, there’s no open homosexuals in Afghanistan, Iran or Saudi Arabia, isn’t it?
Just like we better detect earthquakes today thanks to technology, not meaning that they're increasing, society became more aware of people who always existed when they were less suppressed. This has been observed not only in the West but also when studying other cultures, some ancient. But of course, it's part of bigotry and intolerance preaching to promote conspiracy theories of invasion, indoctrination, slippery slope arguments, etc. Just like some apocalyptic groups claim that the end is near because earthquakes are supposedly increasing.
