J. Michael Bailey is one of the authors, and the study heavily references the questionable research of Blanchard and his gang? The study itself might be credible research, maybe… but those people don’t give much hope for that being the case.

you have to consider, that one of the major pilars of TERF-ideology is, that at the very least MtF-transness is a fetish (which is, of course, wrong). I don’t see how one can simultanously believe in trans exclusion, that MtF-transness were a fetish but that fetishes were okay. So TERFs can’t really be pro-kink (of course, from my lurking on Ovarit, I can clearly conclude that they essentially believe, that all Kink is basically just an excuse for men to abuse women)

This is why Blanchardianism (and pseudoscience in general) is defined by unfalsifiable hypotheses.
Whenever pseudoscientific claims are subjected to the Scientific Method, they either fall flat or contradict each other. That’s why pseudoscience prefers claims that cannot be tested and are impossible to disprove. “You’re attracted to men? The man is just a prop for your AGP! You’re asexual? That’s because your attraction to yourself reduces your attraction to others! You’re attracted to women? That’s because AGPs have a straight male brain, whereas HSTSs have a gay male brain!”
It’s just like Freudianism. Freud and Blanchard claim to be scientists but make claims that logically contradict each other (and Bailey’s The Man Who Would Be Queen doesn’t cite any sources in the index).
Exhibit A: the Freudian claim that Aspies like me had “refrigerator mothers.” My mother was nothing like that, and all my siblings (who grew up with the same parents in the exact same environment I did) are not autistic. Did Freudians ever test the Refrigerator Mother hypothesis? Of course not.

They also never admit to any falsification, Popper himself noted that (some Marxists and other economic-political ideologies sadly behave in a similar way). People saying that they never had refrigerator moms and are still Aspies? Must be that they are either not Aspies at all, or in denial of their mother’s coldness towards them, yet another proof how damaging that relationship must have been. You can’t falsify their hypothesis, because every falsification you give is taken as yet another proof for it or explained away. Another hallmark of pseudoscience.
