Whenever you're into "just a theory", "hoaxes" and "missing links", you're only displaying your own ignorance and exposure to false anti-science propaganda to justify a fundamentalist reinterpretation of a version of an ancient nationalist myth that never had anything to do with science. Replace "just a theory" by proper vocabulary and learn about it: "scientific theory", "hypothesis". Replace "missing link" by "transitional fossil" (there are many more than you would admit). Despite the scarcity of fossils. You also missed the fact that the record is also in the genetic code. The scientific theory is an explanatory model that is adapted to fit the observations, the evidence. Based on many working hypotheses and facts discovered about the natural world. It includes natural selection.

That's the old "to justify sin" argument to accuse and avoid critical thinking. When you understand something to be false or unlikely, the concept of sin itself is even more subjective. The misleading claims of the preachers are recognized as such. Of course, one can still recognize that one may be in better mental health for not constantly feeling irrational guilt for no valid reason. While still being able to tell a preacher that he should be ashamed when promoting bigotry or falsehoods. Ethics and law codes don't have to appeal to false authorities because some claim that they're divine. Not everyone needs to be told what to do and how to think, some can think for themselves, some can take the responsibility for their own actions. Some can evaluate if their actions, or those of preachers or of the self-righteous, are harming others, or if they're bad for society.

I realized that I'd just tag all comments with "like" so decided to just mention that I found them to be awesome, a good reason to be on FSTDT today.

I almost agree. Not in terms of blasphemy but in terms of hypocrisy... The corruption part is also a bit exaggerated. I admit that I used to believe that too when younger, having been raised as a Jehovah's Witness, I was supposed to hate and fear the world ("of Satan"), to believe that governments and politicians were all corrupt to the bone and that for any problem I should consult the "elders" and their internal court first, etc. They don't reject medicine alltogether, but psychology is also feared because a patient may face their fallacies and realize that they're in an unhealthy environment. But that's also how they often hide crimes and protect sex predators to protect their group reputation.
