The United States' Christian roots in one unfortunate instance led to the execution of 14 women, 5 men, and a dog...for witchcraft. It supported human slavery, resulting in centuries of terrible suffering and the deadliest war in American history with more than 620,000 casualties. It promoted Prohibition, one of the most expensive boondoggles ever.
At the national level, Prohibition cost the federal government a total of $11 billion in lost tax revenue, while costing over $300 million to enforce.

How would returning to our Christian roots fix poverty, homelessness, inequality, or crime? Especially since Christian faith never fixed any of that before.
