I have heard this shit, all this shit, about the denigration of art before. This is why I watched Cuties. I did it to decide whether or not to cancel my Netflix subscription. I am not cancelling it.
I personally find twerking gross - and all the more so when it is a group of 11-year-olds doing it. But, that said, there is so much more to the movie then these girls trying to win a twerking contest. Truth be told, those who treated this movie as child erotica - it's not child porn - have a lot more to answer for than does the director or anyone who watched it *before* joining he Right's Cancel Culture on the word of someone who knows someone who knows someone who watched 20 minutes of the film or who read the synopsis.
I think people should watch for context. No, it isn't any fun watching five 11-year-olds play grab-ass...but a lot of the other scene descriptions are taken wildly out of context and the backgroung narrative, which is key to the plot, is rarely mentioned by the pro-Cancel Culture crowd. Surprise surprise, but the right is, er, misrepresenting the truth again.
