who are Israelites? The continent Africa and the people Africans fits every description.
Israelites: A minor power in the southern Levant, to the East of Egypt, who lived there until the Roman Empire forcibly resettled them in the first Century, whose identity was based on their religion featuring mono/henotheism and extensive religious law, which were held up by various communities in their diaspora even after their expulsion from their homeland and two millenia of persecution, resulting in an exceptional cultural continuity.
Africa: The second largest continent both in population and land mass, of which Egypt is the North-Eastern-most nation. It is home to countless different cultures and ethnicities, and to say that it is the most genetically diverse continent would be a massive understatement - indeed, it is houses almost all the genetic diversity of humanity, with all other peoples being descended from a pretty small group. Documentation of it being populated goes back to the very beginning of civilisation, long predating the ethnogenesis of the Israelites even according to the Bible, let alone their diaspora.
A perfect fit indeed.
Our original name is Israelites, we are 10 of the 12 tribes.
The Lost Tribes were forcibly resettled by and within the Assyrian Empire - you know, on the OTHER side of the Levant from Africa, where one of the other great powers, Egypt, lies. And really, it’s pretty obvious what happened to them: They were simply assimilated into the local population.
