The next conservative President must make the institutions of American civil society hard targets for woke culture warriors. This starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity (“SOGI”), diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”), gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights, and any other term used to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights out of every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists.

So the argument is that social justice terminology is naught but thought-stopping? But I should like to hear what they’d acknowledge—if anything—as both leftward and thought-catalytic.

Although a sense of “this is what most everyone with a properly functioning psyche knows and believes” comes through anyway (just take the reverse of each term).

So, freedom of speech is secured by outlawing certain words.
War is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.

Where in the First Amendment does it favor the opinions of straight white men, John?

I’m thinking that the reason why people like this think that language they don’t like is a free speech violation is because there are situations where they feel like they’re compelled to say things which they’d rather not say. Or be compelled to use “acceptable language” in order to avoid unpleasant consequences when they’d rather use “unacceptable language” consequence-free. And also, what is acceptable or unacceptable may be perversely backwards, from their perspective. I can even imagine that there could be occasions where some of them feel they must utter absolute blasphemies to avoid getting in trouble, but other people hear something very different and normal being communicated because they have a very different idea what the words mean than the general public does.

In which case, too fucking bad. Welcome to everyone else’s world, except maybe a bit worse, because you’ve decided to make up your own definitions of words instead of learning how everyone else uses them.
