Yeah, well, it’s the USA and rifles are quite easy to obtain there. Something the quotee supports. BTW, Kirk got shot with a .30-06, a quite normal rifle.

It's a rifle. It's not like he had to get smuggled some plutonium to make the hit, as far as we're aware Kirk was shot with an average shot from an average rifle. You don't need a Trans version of the right wing militia movement to supply someone with a gun.

Why is this raving fever dream formulated like getting a gun in the US is hard? It’s not fucking England or Japan, you don’t need connections with smugglers and a deep underground black market that risks life imprisonment just purchasing a handgun and shooting ranges aren’t some clandestine affair hidden in mountain bunkers you can set up a bale of hay in a backyard. Hell in some places the neighbours will think you’re gay if you don’t fire off guns just to fill time and that’s apparently a hundred times more alarming than if you hang out on the porch day drinking in a Klan robe while stroking your gun and muttering how they’re all going to pay. There are more guns than living humans in the US. It’s easier to get an assault rifle or an smg that folds up to look like a child’s lunchbox in the US than it is to vote and Tyler grew up in a household with more guns per person than changes of clean underwear. He could have pulled a gun his family forgot about from in between the couch cushions.
Here in Britain, I can still get a gun: despite what happened after Dunblane.
If it’s a 22 or 177 air rifle/pistol I need a licence I have to apply for via Humberside Police. I do have a Springfield Armoury XDM, Beretta M92 in a carbine adapter, a KWA M93R with extended magazine & folding stock, and RoboCop’s Auto 9, but these are airsoft ones that - because I’m not a member of a skirmishing group - have to be two-toned for me to obtain & own legally. And although I have plenty of green/white gas to power these blowback ones, a goodly supply of 6mm plastic pellets and a catch target frame by Tokyo Marui - the pioneers of airsoft - I mainly have these for display (and a sense of nostalgia for the gun model kits by LS I used to make in the late 1970s-1980s). And although I had to wait 6 & 9 months for the M93R and Auto 9 respectively due to demand worldwide, I eventually got them. You live in the US, OP.
