The picture was of three white men on a sidewalk next to a sign that read “C W A local 1170 on strike”
I’m pretty sure you can be pro-worker rights and still be happy about minorities and women having civil rights and being able to have jobs, have own bank accounts, etc.
America has gained something since the 1950s: being the most technically advanced country. And do you know how this came to be, OP? Being highly educated .
Certainly knowing how to spell the word 'Lose '.
There are winners in life: and there are lose rs.
Guess which one of those you are.
My parents were both born in the 1950s. My dad’s parents were kinda totally “middle class” I guess, but my mom’s family was NOT well off. I think any of them, at least, would say that they didn’t have it better in the ’50s.
Yeah, the 1950s were great, apart for the technological progress accomplished since (I’m sure doctors would be dying to see our medical technologies at work) and the fact there were a smaller proportions which really mattered in society.
Check with OSHA, maybe? How many of their rules are written in blood. SOMEONE got HURT to cause them to say things like ’don’t store toxic waste in a break room’ and ’don’t store radioactive tools in berthing areas.’ And one of my favorites, ‘don’t lock workers in to ensure productivity for the entire shift, which might be a problem if a fire breaks out.’
Unions help ensure these rules are followed so, while the company doesn’t profit AS OUTRAGEOUSLY as they might, they also are a little less likely to kill their workforce.
Confused?
