At one point in my life, I lived with a roommate. During negotiation of the household rules, they were firm on “no guests”. Later on they started bringing in guests of their own, and clarified that what they *really* meant was they didn’t want anyone unfamiliar in the apartment. I pointed out that their guests were unfamiliar to me, and while I didn’t mind unfamiliar people being over that much, I needed some advance warning. Also this isn’t what we actually negotiated and was a bit unfairly lopsided. But nope, they refused to budge - they would invite anyone whenever with no advance warning, and even in the few cases when I wanted to invite over someone we both knew, and gave the courtesy of an advance warning they were like, totally not convenient right now, so veto. I was glad when they finally moved out.

The point of this story is that it’s not just your “house”, and you’re not respecting the agreements which have been made by the whole household about how to handle “guests”. Admittedly a stretch, but the whole comparing a country to a house idea was rather stupid to begin with.

Imagine you went to the DMV during posted hours to handle what should be a straightforward, if tedious, matter involving paperwork but the minute you get in line a raving madman calls you a tresspassing rapist there to sell heroin to kids. Security just laughs at you even when that psycho runs physical interference including violently dragging you away when you are speaking with a clerk, vandalizing the documents you’re supposed to fill out, and locking you in a supply closet. Any time you speak of any of this you are taken to task for your belligerence.

Now imagine you have to pay a fee for making appointments even though you will still be waiting in line rather than scheduled in, you pay an additional fee at the front door, an individual cost for every sheet of paper including those vandalized by your harasser or lost by a clerk who says to your face they have no interest in you concluding your business, you pay that same clerk directly for every interaction, and you keep paying with every delay… all while being called a thief with your hand out for freebies.

Now imagine an armed gang is standing outside the door and took your kids hostage, and you never them again even after you give up on the DMV. You are still being charged all the same fees including the entry fee despite being detained at the door. All complications including policies that require you to be in the building for interviews are your problem. Failure to comply will result in penalties. Any sudden moves, complaints, or questions with a tone in your voice may be met with potshots and a lecture on how your very presence has already increased the prevalence of violence and fears of catching a stray bullet.

Now imagine it is past the deadline for the reason for your visit to the DMV and the consequences have included losing your home and means of travel, being inelegible for most legal employ, your kids are still gone, and in addition to a warrant being out for your arrest the criminal underworld has a price on your head. Broken and bewildered you kneel in front of the open building watching others enter and exit unmolested while guns remain trained on you. And then someone says you only have yourself to blame because if you had just been there on legitimate business and followed the rules you would have been taken care of in under an hour with a smile and world class service like they were.

But you just had to “break in” as an over the hill washed up has been of an actor with self awareness as solid as his grasp of politics and culture so confidently frames the issue.

Silly fundie analogy, it even rhymes... As is often the case, they present false equivalences, straw men and false conclusions.

I’m not sure what this means to the analogy, but if he has a key, why would be bother to force me to keep my door open?

Imagine a previous president spending his remaining years - until he couldn’t - building affordable homes for poor people: certainly a previous president who, despite being a devout Southern Baptist, used the pre-1952 Pledge of Allegiance which omits the words ‘Under God’. Y’know, I haven’t seen Biden bleat about his beliefs. He and Jimmy Carter follow more than just Matthew 6:6.

This isn’t ‘locking your door.’
This is ‘planting antipersonnel mines on the sidewalk’ to keep people away from your door.
Butnot the whole sidewalk, just the part between your yard and the non-white neighbor’s.

Biden didn’t leave the door open, his administration just ordered Texas to remove a floating wall which caused migrant to die by drowning.

Okay so with the context of littering a river that by treaty belongs to both countries and acts as the legal natural border with deadly traps constituting a violation of that neutral area and treaty this is so much worse and idiotic. Incidentally violations of binding legal treaties and the potential consequences of Texas effectively invading the Mexican border aside the razor wire poses a severe hazard for humans and wildlife on both sides that rely on the river for survival meaning this will negatively impact Texans just existing. A negative impact that is the ENTIRE FUCKING REASON treaties respecting the river as a joint resource and natural border were agreed to!

Now, imagine that, instead of locking his door, Kull the Conqueror here placed land mines, dug a moat, filled it with alligators, and surrounded his property with razor wire; then imagine that he also hung a sign outside that said, “awesome party inside, everyone welcome,” thereby inviting folks to attempt to enter into his house. He also, in his younger days, lit much of the surrounding neighbourhood on fire, the results of which are still felt to this day, and which has negatively impacted his neighbours and how they live. As a result of this, people are lured into Kevin's cruel deathtraps to escape the squalor that he is, at least in part, responsible for, but he insists that it's all necessary because otherwise some *brown* person might enjoy his party.

False equivalence, read about criticial thinking skills. Putting up a straw man of Biden with false conspiracy theories of widely opening up borders, when little changed in border policy. The reason being to promote panic, fascism and draconian measures.
