I get the angry I do, for the longest (and unfortunately still ongoing) time, the patriarchal society has pretty much disregard most forms of rape that have been committed against women, so I get the frustration and rage. However, rape is still a crime that can affect everyone, most just women, men have been victims of it as well, and I’m not talking about men being raped by other men but men being raped by women as well. I’ve read a lot of sources that indicate that the gender of the rapist and victim are more or less equal to each other but the reason why its’ not reflected in that is to do with current society’s view on men and the notion that men can not be raped, especially if its’ by a woman, if you take that away, as mentioned, the gender of the two groups will be almost completely equal to each other. That’s not getting into the fact that women can also rape other women too and not because they’re a male-to-female trans.
Simply put, rape is far too varied of a crime to be classified as a hate-crime, though it used in a number of hate-crimes but they are often on the backsit to the true goal, to hurt someone because of their ethnic, religious, or sexual background.
