2. What percentage of felonies were stopped by citizens with guns vs police in general? Tell the numbers of crime stopped, not a kill scorecard.
3. How many times do armed citizens commit crimes because there is a gun and they handle things poorly? Shoot someone suspicious, threaten someone for disagreeing with them, that sort of thing. We need to look at the full picture of crime, after all.
4. Wanting more rehabilitation in our current legal system, better social safety net, and education to all prevent crime doesn't mean people are "soft" on crime.

I'm not a fan of particularly sexually explicit things to be read to children. From just the description of the first one, that certainly seems like something I'd not market to the lower end of the age scale presented. Higher than that, maybe not assigned school reading. 1. Humans aren't made of "Earth and Water" any more than a car is. Just because carbon is also found in the ground (and air) doesn't make what humans are made of even close to clay. And it's not like it's any mystery, aside from being young enough to have been informed by other cultures, it's pretty apparent. People need water to live, and when people rot it's like they return to the Earth.
2. Twisting the text doesn't really help, when you are contradicting the text. If it says "God made man and then breathed life into him." It is NOT saying "God made living matter and over time it became mankind." If God made man first and adjusted him later, that can't imply evolution.
3. Why would a god need to go through these extra steps? Surely an omnipotent/benevolent/scient diety could... do what was described in their book? If they didn't the book is wrong, how many other details are you flubbing?

It breaks down when people won't agree on terms or argue in bad faith, like this person is doing.

Hypothetical person A states that abortion is bad, and against their beliefs.
Hypothetical person B states that abortion is bad and they aid and abet efforts to stop access to birth control, put bounties on abortion providers/women who've had abortions, seek the death penalty for people involved with abortion, and to blow up medical centers/kill abortion providers.
They both have the same core belief, but person B is an extremist.

Now, let's say person C agrees with at least some if the least violent aspects of person B's goals. Of the ones listed, let's say they also believe abortion is wrong, seek to deny access to birth control, and are down with putting bounties on abortion providers/women who've had abortions. Do you think they will go "Oh, sure, a few of my beliefs are a bit extreme compared to the general population" or think they'd go "Me, extreme? No way. That's just you demonizing people who disagree with you!"

If one person isn't accepting definitions, it's hard to move a conversation forward.

Well, there is one little problem with this line of reasoning. We can see the microbes and we can document what they do. So it's a bit obvious which side is right.

Even things that this idiot claims to help their case do not. Resistant strains of "X" prove that while we are capable of preventing disease by killing certain microbes, as they evolve to get more difficult to kill the microbe is then free to spread disease.

And, yes. If a person is generally not well things that make them sick will have a more adverse affect on the body. Just like how punching someone who's a hemophiliac with brittle bones will have a much more serious chance of a grave injury than a person in good health who exercises regularly. This included interviews with convicted child molesters who described what they would do to keep things hidden and how to lure children. In situations like that, interviewing rapists is helpful.

As for punching up vs punching down, a good way to visualize it is imagine two people, and the fists are scathing jokes. I personally of the opinion that jokes are jokes, if it is so distasteful it's not funny then it's a bad joke, not that you can't joke about the group/subject in general. They do however, say that atheists have skepticism instead of "genuine" thought. Which is self defeating because to have skepticism about any topic a person would have to think about it.

Now, while brain activity does not necessarily mean thought (the brain does quite a bit aside from thinking) you can use them to help the case that someone is thinking. If we monitor brain activity while someone is doing things that require thinking and compare it to another person doing the same, we can look for similar results. And as thoughts are the results of brain activity... that part is easy enough to pop that argument. There really isn't an equivalent for someone to show God nice and easily.

And finally, it's very telling that the volley of questions in response aren't. Instead of trying to go for actual possible rebuttals it's a list of strawman non-sequiturs that aren't even addressed.

I mean, it's less a lie than an estimate. We don't have exact numbers, so it was a range. And I'd have to double check, but that was also the range for just Jewish victims, counting the Roma, homosexuals, Russians, disabled, political opponents and general undesirables, the numbers the Nazi's were said to have slain is roughly double that figure.

Stalin and Mao also have higher body counts, but they also were less purposeful in how they went around with things, so most people don't hold it as comparable. Still completely barbaric, mind you.

But, let's say, for the sake of argument, that number is too high. Estimates were iffy, it's closer to 4 million, or even 2 million. So what? When does the targeted eradication of an ethnic group become fine? I'd be hard pressed to find a reasonable situation where it ever would be fine.

And of course, the only time I ever hear this sort of argument is "I wish it was 6 million" or "Should have been more than 6 million" or other terrible shit where the speaker/writer reveals themselves to be all sorts of shitty.
