i really feel that most conversions are emotional events, based on emotional needs. Fragile, desperate people are offered a hand, a community, an ear, a shoulder… They haven’t done comparison shopping, they’ve fixated.

Studying other religions, however, is intellectual. You notice what is similar about all of them. They all tend to look the same. It could weaken one’s fixation on ‘the religion that saved me.’ After I left the church i was raised in, i looked at all the others and was amazed i’d believed such bullshit for so long.
The newby believer could be seduced by the bullshit of other faiths if they’re not closely policed.

There is the DECISION, which is actually part of the Constitution, and there are the opinions. The justices on both sides of a Decision publish their line of thinking for the benefit of future decisions. There’s usually a majority opinion and a minority opinion on why they did or did not support the decision the court made.
Roe v Wade made abortion a Constitutional Right. WHich is binding on every state that even pretends to support the Constitution.
