- I still am unclear about the true story surrounding Pretti’s killing
Which parts are still unclear? We have videos from pretty much all angles, plus an autopsy.
- I am not sure DHS messaging on Pretti’s death has been completely accurate or helpful
I am pretty sure this is whitewashing bullshit on an epic scale. They called both Good and Pretti domestic terrorist within a breath of the shootings.
- ICE and border patrol agents, by and large, do a good, compassionate job that is very difficult
Compassionate, like raiding schools? Like arresting a five-year old? Like deporting cancer patients? Like leaving people without healthcare or food?
Like any group - teachers, pastors, social workers, etc - there will be those who are corrupt or bad at their jobs, and it’s ok to acknowledge that if apparent
Sure. The problem is that we have yet to witness a competent and compassionate operation led by any group of ICE agents.
- ICE’s job is necessary and good. Removing illegal aliens, including those who have committed heinous crimes against American children, should be able to be done without conflict. This is normal business that has been conducted in similar ways under both R and D administrations. The chaos is not caused by Trump. It is caused by those who hate Trump
Removing unlawful immigrants is necessary. ICE is not doing a good job of it. Removing children or citizens, is beyond their mandate. They still do it, and brutally so.
- America, like every country, has the right and responsibility to defend its borders, protect citizenship, and enforce immigration law. This is necessary for national sovereignty.
Now square that with Greenland’s attempted seizure by Trump.
This is not “kidnapping,” and it’s not just violent criminals who need to be deported.
Fair enough, but there is due process to determine if people have to be deported. Grabbing people off the street without due process IS kidnapping.
never said a word about immigration enforcement under Biden & Obama
Fair point, although Trump has ramped up the brutality.
accused Charlie Kirk of racism in the days following his murder
Dying does not make a person immune from criticism, especially when said person had been very vocal in their disdain for certain ethnicities.
Did Good or Pretti have a national platform through which they advocated for discrimination against a number of people? No? Then what does this point have to do with the situation at hand?
I am 100% uninterested in what these people have to say about morality or justice.
Funny, I was about to say the same thing about sanctimonious far-right pricks.
