"By now, you're not probably asking yourselves how we can prove that our initial thoughts enter our mind from outside of our bodies rather than originating in the brain?”
Yeah, that’d be an important question.
“ We don't need to resort to expensive research projects to convince you.”
Oh, not a good sign…
“You can test this on yourselves. Did you ever create a new thought or did it just, suddenly, "pop into your head"?”
Yes. Now, how is that proof it came from outside that same head?
There are plenty of things my brain does without my conscious direction. Heart beating, food digested, various ‘forces of habit’ i’ve trained it to do. I’m not a multi-story building, I’m more of the front office of a company.
And I have noticed that on some difficulties, I can just leave it for my subconscious to provide a solution, and it usually does.
If there’s an outside source of knowledge, and it wants me to solve the puzzle, why does it wait two days?
“Even a simple decision to drink a cup of coffee or change an item of clothing are the result of a thought that suddenly appeared in our minds whilst on the computer, at work, in the shower, whilst driving,”
No, thirst is something that grows, and usually with predictable regularity. The more i work, the sooner I get thirsty.
Changing clothes would be sparked by an event, but then my mind decides that the ‘Nuke The Whales’ t-shirt would not be appropriate for the vegan guest I’m escorting.
“in fact, in every situation of our daily lives.”
This is not my experience.
“ Let's say that, at a specific moment in time, our brain was concentrating on driving. During this activity the brain is aware of our surroundings,”
That’s driving. If we’re not aware, we’re just aiming at people.
“ it is examining the state of the road and traffic,”
That’s driving.
"it's checking our speed and also listening to the radio.”
Driving. A prolix effort to say driving.
“ Suddenly a new though "pops" into our head: perhaps I should call John, I haven't spoken with him for ages.”
Do you have ANY evidence that anything originates outside of our head? Your credulity isn’t even anecdotal evidence.
“If you take a few minutes to sit quietly and contemplate you'll discover and perhaps even feel how this new thought entered your mind from outside of your body and then the brain took over.”
No. No, there’s no sensation of my programming being interrupted through external projections. Maybe the song reminded me of John. or it reminded me of Anne, who John introduced me to, but Anne made it clear in no uncertain terms that we would never talk again, so the mind went on to John fairly expectedly.
"The brain is the Central Processing Unit and receives thoughts in the form of a code (similar to computer "Machine Language") from an external source and them processes the code in using two, main procedures.”
That you can explain it is NOT adequate evidence that you’ve identified it.
"The second procedure is the brain's reaction to a new thought, one for which it has no previous information in its memory banks. For example, the desire to purchase a new product or service, to try a food that we've never tried before and so on.”
Kinda stepping on your own dick, here. I have never been motivated to try goods or services that I had no knowledge of at all. I don’t think it’s possible.
I HAVE seen ads or demonstrations for newthings and thought, “I need this!” instantly, but that’s still an internal reaction to external stimuli.
I have never received external motivation to try food i have never heard of. Or gained a recipe i want to try that’s never been exposed to.
