“It is ironic to me that the atheists want freedom from religion when atheism IS a religion.”
How is that ironic? Don’t you want freedom from Islam?
“You have to BELIEVE that there is no God, since they cannot prove conclusively that there is no God.”
No, I just don’t find ANY of the gods offered to me to be credible.
“They have FAITH in man"
Man exists…
“- their own ability to determine whether or not there is a God - so much faith, in fact, that they are willing to stake their eternal souls, as well as the souls of their children, family, friends, and whomever else they influence away from God, on their own ability to think they know EVERYTHING in the universe.”
No, I just don’t find any gods compelling, and I don’t find any threats of eternal damnation all that threatening. It’s not a gamble, I just cannot bring myself to think any of it’s real.
“I know I don't know everything, that's why I would rather put my faith in an awesome, holy God than in flawed, fallible, imperfect man.”
You don’t know everything but you’ve figured out that ONE religion among eight THOUSAND of them is THE real one. THAT is gambling.
“BTW, No Quarter, Darwin, a flawed, fallible, imperfect man, believed that there were "Favoured Races" - the light skinned ones - which had evolved further away from dark-skinned apes”
No, sweetie, he used ‘races’ to talk about breeds of animals that came to dominate each gene pool. Nice try, but stupidly wrong.
“- and the Hitler's Nazi slaughter of the Jews was based on the principles of evolution,”
Hitler? This would be the guy who outlawed Darwin’s books and had them burned alongside the ones about perverted sex or false religions?
You’re SURE about this?
“as was Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge, and Joseph Stalin's regime.”
I don’t know much about Pol Pot.
Stalin was atheist, not evolutionist. They’re not synonymous. And he was more interested in power than in religion.
