…The difference, WAR, is that knives are tools that can be used for stuff OTHER than killing. As opposed to guns, which are exclusively weapons that kill EASILY. There’s a reason why firearms are considered the ultimate “equalizer” in conflicts. They’re just THAT good at killing you no matter how strong or weak you are.
Besides, there are actually a lot of countries that ban carrying any kind of weapons in public, inluding knives and brass knuckles and such. And guess what, those countries tend to be safer places to live in.

Hey WAR, what exactly is a "communist"? You may not use the words "Democrat", "liberal", "left(ist)", "(un)America(n)", "US(A)", "god(less)", or derivatives thereof in your definition.
Also, if there are knives specifically designed for killing people and no other purpose , then yes, those need to be banned or very heavily regulated like firearms designed for the same purpose. Saying otherwise just makes you look like the stark raving lunatic you so clearly are.
We’re definitely looking at someone who thinks that without direct divine control, getting tough and prickly (e.g. ready and able to deploy arms against a malefactor at a moment’s notice) is the only actual correct answer to the world’s travails.
That this goes against any idea of kindness being a virtue (because then God would succor it, not tacitly disdain it) apparently hasn’t occurred to him.
But come to think of it, Trump is “only” about 14 years older than Root. Not quite the same generation, but them imbibing on similar philosophical toxins at the same time isn’t particularly out there. And we all know how little stock Trump puts in the non-criminal, I trust.

Like others have said knives have uses other than murder, although ironically they’re much more restricted even in the US if they’re made for concealment. If you want to kill someone a block away you’ll have to walk over to them if you have a knife and then to the next person. Which takes time others use to get away. Not so much with a submachinegun. Yet knives are seriously more restricted in the US than guns. If you’re of a mind superior firepower is the only thing keeping the peace it makes it just that much more nonsensical to sell high capacity automatic weapons instead of restricting them for police and military use. But then again, you’re also the type to fear that if you can’t outgun the police and military they’ll suddenly spin your block for no real reason. Although you simultaneously think you could take them with a ragtag group of trigger happy idiots.
You’re not a very sensible person, Wayne, and you’re gunning to make your country make continuously less sense.
There's little reason to carry knives in public, so that's okay with me.

Hey, I’m a Democrat (who’s not a communist, not that Wayne would know what a communist is if one bit him on the ass) and I actually carry around a knife with me just about every time I leave the house. I mean, it’s one that’s maybe two inches long at most, on a sort of “mini-multi-tool” thing I have on a keychain. It’s came in pretty handy at times, for non-people–stabbing purposes, of course, lol.
