I don't care if republicans make it illegal to be trans

Is there any point to making trans lilegal? That’s like making left-handedness illegal.
You can legislate behavior and make it illegal to use left-handed tools, to MAKE left handed tools, write left handed, not allow left-handed pitchers in baseball…
That’s what you really want, right? No transgendered people getting the treatments they need to be happy, no one performing research on why people are transgender.
Just your prejudice and their suffering.
And for this, you’re willing to sell every other woman in the nation down the river on abortion rights, employment rights, equal pay, IVF, and so on?
Fuck you most readily, you fucking bitch.
Good thing the Constitution clearly states that criminalizing the existence of a group of people based on aspects of their being is illegal and unconstitutional. You can't outlaw having freckles, you can't ban redheads, you can't criminalize being black, and you can't make it illegal to be trans.
My suggestion? Buy a dozen eggs, and suck each and every one of them.

Yes. For one, they don’t see transness as (basically) inborn, unlike left-handedness. To them, it’s a social contagion that can and should be prevented and/or cured.
Ok, how about this?
“I don’t care if Nazis make it illegal to be Jewish”
“I don’t care if Puritans make it illegal to be Pequot”
“I don’t care if colonists make it illegal to be Tasmanian”
“I don’t care if Soviets make it illegal to be Bulgarian”
“I don’t care if the English make it illegal to be Scottish”
Because that’s how you sound. It’s exactly how you sound, and it doesn’t matter what you try to say in your own defense after you say shit like this because, while you may not want to be affiliated with those groups, you’re doing exactly what these groups did while things were leading up to the wholesale murders of entire peoples.
You may think it’s easy, and it’s clear you think being trans is a choice and once it “goes away” all the trans people will go back to their lives and keep on living just like you would, right? Except that’s not how it works. Being trans isn’t a choice. And besides all of that, trans people have existed for as long as humans have existed and it’s not hurting you. Not one bit. But the lies you’re helping to spread? Those are hurting people.
So, if the GOP was to support laws which made merely being trans a felony punished by 10 years in prison then you would feel nothing, even though it might create a precedent to persecute other people?

Precedent? They’ll write the law with that in mind. They’ll SAY the language means ‘transgenders,’ but in effect it’ll cover gays, drag, atheism, Catholics, the woke, and whoever the hell else comes up when they need a scapegoat.

Yes, though they might not see the precedent aspect of it at all, or just think it to be irrelevant compared to the benefit. Remember, many of them see us as rapists and pedophiles almost by default, who are getting away with our crimes thanks to our transgender status. They also see us as a clear and present danger, as invaders who will barge into their spaces and do unspeakable things to the women there.
Hence, criminalizing us wholesale makes perfect sense to more than a few of them.
Confused?
