We were minding our own business when suddenly the trans movement came along and demanded that we totally abandon biology, common sense, and truth itself for its sake. Our war against this scourge is a defensive struggle. They started it. They wanted this fight. Now they have it.

We don't want a fight. We want you to leave us the fuck alone and let us live our lives in peace. But, if the only way we can get that is a fight, well, I guess it's a fight you get. A fight you can't win.
"Suddenly came along"... when trans people have existed for a long time. There was Christine Jorgensen in the Fifties, first to have the surgery, and the He She Ladies in 1870, you can Google the Boulton and Park case.
"We were minding our own business"... WHEN?!!! If people like you ever mind your own business, I'll eat my cricket cap. So don't be like old Checkmate Charlie in 1642, declaring war on someone you're unlikely to ever be able to beat.
Suddenly, for some strange reason, you claimed to be embracing biology for bigotry, when traditionally you have always been against it, rejecting the fact that we've evolved, for instance. Except when it was to push pseudoscientific racism, still not actual biology. The same here and the same about climate change denial. And since you're the warrior, fighting against reality and society, like you were before, you're still warring against it. Transpeople are just another scapegoat to make straw men about and advance the war you were looking for.
I wonder if this post deserves the #psycho tag...
You weren’t “minding your own business.” You were rabidly opposed to marriage equality, and when you lost that fight, you turned on trans people, who really were minding their own business. “The trans movement” is just people trying to defend themselves from bigots like you.
We were minding our own business when suddenly the fundie movement came along and demanded that we totally abandon biology, common sense, and truth itself for its sake.
FTFY.
I suppose if one were being generous (I know, Matty-Matty doesn’t deserve generosity) one could say that we (collective we, not just trans people) are at war with your sense of normality. Problem is, your sense of normality requires you to force it on everyone else, and it’s a really sucky situation for everyone else. Sure, it’s going to be real sucky for you when the world no longer matches your worldview, but if living in a world that is uncomfortable is good enough for other people, then it’s good enough for you.
“We were minding our own business when suddenly the trans movement came along”
Bull fucking shit.
Wendy Carlos knew she was a Wendy a long, long, long time before she came out. She actually went in drag to the few public appearances she made for Switched On Bach, because she worried about the public’s reaction to her situation.
You guys have always been there, always been critical, and always been a threat. You think what’s in my pants is your business, as well as what i do with it, where it goes, what it sees.
You are not the victims, here, nor the defenders.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
