No, he would mean remaining. The algorithm used for Bitcoin mining defines an upper limit of how much can be mined, and a particular end date for mining it.

I have the impression that he confuses cryptocurrencies in general with Bitcoin. It's also long been massively mined where access to energy is cheap. Then what matters is how it's traded, the exchanges, storage security, oversight against laundering and criminal activity, etc. And unfortunately, pollution, because mining basically converts energy into currency...
You know, I’m mildly curious about something. Given that each bitcoin is harder to “mine” than the last (and, incidentally, about 92% of them have already been mined), will there ever come a point where the average cost to mine a new coin will be higher than the average price of an existing one?
I guess I’m just old, but I remember the times when someone who said shit half as crazy as the stuff Donald Trump spouts on a regular basis would effectively disqualify them from public office, or at least from the Presidency.
