There’s a bipartisan bill being negotiated in the Senate involving the border (as well as funding for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan). The Republican doing the negotiations, James Lankford, just got censored and chastised by the Oklahoma Republican Party for daring to be part of negotiations, and Speaker Mike “the moron” Johnson just stated that the only border bill he’ll agree to is one that involves ZERO people crossing into the US, period. The Republicans are crying about the border being “open”, but they don’t want to do anything at all about it. And it’s entirely because Trump told them he wants the border as an election talking point.
Trump’s also claiming the currently improving US economy is all because businesses expect him to win in November and are celebrating…

Apparently Cloward and Piven had proposed a wellfare plan (never implemented), in the 1960s. Later, some capitalists claimed that it was a strategy to usher societal collapse... It seems that the conspiracy theory is being promoted again, unsurprisingly.

I'm not gonna lie, but for the longest time, I assumed Croquemitaine was some sort of food, like a croque madame or something. I figured it must be delicious for you to use it as a username!
On topic, the really dumb thing about Trump asking Johnson to kill the immigration bill, is that even if it passed, it wouldn't stop Trump from claiming the border is wide open, just like he lies about everything else. It's not like most Americans can see the effects of illegal immigration firsthand (which, frankly seem to benefit us more than the immigrants, themselves.)
