Maybe I’m misunderstanding what they mean but English has the same features. A river would be perceived differently than a stream or creek. Dunno about understanding how ancestral “English” speakers perceived and talked about it since there’s been centuries of change both linguistically and socially but you can look that up. I’m pretty sure that’s true of other languages as well.
