The regime of censorship being imposed on the internet
…Let me try to spell it out of you, you moronic fundies; being banned from social media (free services provided by private corporations) for violating their contractual terms of use (not to spread hatespeech or attempt to incite terrorism) is NOT the same as being censored!!! How hard is that to get!?
Look, when you make use of, let’s say Twitter, then when you make an account you HAVE to agree to a terms of use and privacy policy and such (you know, the annoying walls of text that nobody reads). These things are almost as legally binding as signing an actual contract. If you BREAK said terms of use (such as using their platform to spread hatespeech) then they have EVERY RIGHT to suspend your account and deny you anymore use of their free services!! That in no way is comparable to the GOVERNMENT throwing you in jail just for saying anything they happen to dislike!!
While I personally admit I don’t always like certain terms of use (especially if the site feels the need to change them after you’ve already signed them), I still try to abide by them as I know I have no legal grounds to stand on if I break them. That, and I am simply NOT a cunt on the internet.
Seriously, I’m 100% done with morons who think the entire internet is their personal playground where they can say and do whatever the hell they want. Always defending inanity with the “it’s just my opinion!" fallacy. And when you do disagree with them they act “it’s a free country, I’m allowed to say whatever I want!” too stupid to realize that the USA is NOT the entire world and that free speech means we’re also allowed to disagree with them as much as we want…
Sorry, this just a SERIOUS pet peeve of mine.
