William Shakespeare wrote many plays, stories and poems. But did any of the works of William Shakespeare make the world a better place?
I’ll let the “anti-nihilist” side of me speak here. As long as even a single person laughed, happy-cried, or was otherwise amused by even a single poem of Shakespeare, then yes, he did make the world a better place with this works and his life meant something. “Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire.” and all that.
Goodness does not need to come in grand packages. Even a single candlelight can already push absolute darkness away.
Plus, anyone can drop a nuke on a city of civilians, no matter what reason they may have. But it takes someone truly special to create works that still touch hearts to this day.
