A bigot is stranded on an island with a surprisingly diverse array of survivors. They immediately stand up as though they expect to be the leader of the group and dole out tasks based on an idiots perception of what people are good for.
The others find this pointless, humoring the bigot just to keep friction out of the situation only until they each determine who has which skills relevant to survival and what will actually help them survive.
In the meantime the bigot wanders between each survivor more or less being concerned with looking busy as opposed to being genuinely helpful telling them they don't trust the others and to watch their backs for signs of betrayal. At the end of the day the bigot again assumes authority and thinks they should be the one deciding who receives what resources. Predictably the intended distribution is more about rewarding those in the bigot's favour than anything else and the ones doing the most manual labour previously declared to be fit for nothing else are seemingly singled out for deprivation.
The others, patience wearing thin, ask what exactly the bigot thinks qualifies them to do this when everyone has been working towards their survival while they have been doing whatever they pleased.
The bigot, insulted, declares nobody would have any idea what to do if they weren't there to give directions and left to their own devices the rest would starve and kill each other. And their contribution, greater than any other, is having been there to tell everybody the right way to do things while watching to make sure they don't misbehave.
In a just world everyone would simply ignore the bigot after that point, only remembering them as another survivor to keep alive. In our reality however it seems people are more inclined to prove their worth and good faith to the bigot on their terms letting them continue to "lead" by favouring themselves and punishing those that don't reinforce their self serving perceptions. Perceptions agonizingly slow to change even if reality and survival demand it.
And the bigot declares the entire time: I knew it, you are all plotting against me.
