There have been hundreds of right-wing shootings & attacks in the US alone this year. IF (and that’s a big “if”) this shooter is even non-cis, that’s exactly one case of a violent trans person in at least the past decade.

Current scholarly consensus is that the Jesus figure is actually an amalgam of multiple “messiah” figures from the time.

The fact that the Romans - who were so anal-retentive about record-keeping that we still have roomfuls of sales receipts from before Nero - never had any record of any Yeshua bin Yosef/Jesus of Nazareth'/etc. (or any other “messiah,” much less any “King of the Jews”) being crucified during the time period, tells me that there is no evidence that a single historical Jesus actually existed. Much like Goliath, Zeus, Sun Wukong, or Paul Bunyan.

“Cis” is short for “cisgender.” It was NOT coined by trans women (and I note the implied erasure of trans men). It is a scientific and medical term. “Cis-” has been used as a prefix in science for at least 200 years; it is merely the opposite of “trans.” Because it’s bloody Latin - you know, the language only used by doctors & scientists?

Complaining about being called “cis” in contrast to trans folks is exactly like complaining about being called “heterosexual.” It’s a bloody scientific classification, not a slur or slang term. It’s not trans women’s fault that you can’t pass an 8th grade science class.

1. Lee Merritt is a conspiracy theorist & a quack. She’s also a back surgeon, not an epidemiologist, and is not even remotely qualified to talk with authority about vaccines, pandemics, or viruses. Also, to date, nobody has managed to successfully create any kind of virus or chemical that specifically targets (or spares) members of a specific ethnicity. And it’s definitely not for lack of trying.

7. Those statues were erected in the 1950s, in protest of the growing civil rights movement… and many were funded by the Klan (though I suspect OP actually approves of that). General Lee explicitly stated that the Confederacy neither wanted, nor deserved, statues or to be commemorated as heroes. Also, “cancel culture” is far more prevalent amongst conservatives; they’re the ones who try to stage boycotts when any company dares insinuate that non-whites/GSRM folks/women are people, they’re the ones who tried to cancel democracy entirely, and they’re the ones who keep cancelling any facts or information that isn’t in lockstep with alt-right fantasies is “fake news.” (Also, it’s interesting how Jews were responsible for slavery in the US before Jews even came to the US… and while they were still pariahs in Europe.)
