Good point, that was basically the point of the ruling in the Texas v. White Supreme Court case, they ruled that the sales of US bonds by the Confederate government of TX during the Civil War were invalid, since it was still a state of the US and the “confederate government” was therefore illegitimate. And for one other thing, no foreign government ever officially recognized them as a country anyway. So…yeah, like any other “sovcit” argument, that one doesn’t hold water.
