Cool story Bro. I personally haven’t watched Date a Live yet, but if it get’s Steven R’s panties in a twist I might check it out.
Yeah, believe it or not, but I haven’t watched that many harem anime/manga that I liked. Monster Musume is one of them, because of the cute monster girls trope and because all harem members get equal spotlights(*). That and the “farm arc” made me WISH I was the MC sooooo haaaard… Ahem, aside from that, Highschool DxD isn’t bad either, but that’s mostly because of the “crossover cosmology” setting where every RL myth is true and coexists, and that’s a trope that I actually really enjoy.
I did try To Love Ru, but the MC doesn’t vibe with me that much. Plus it’s sometimes a bit too silly. Testament of Sister New Devil isn’t bad and gives me Highschool DxD vibes, so I really should continue that one day.
