I think they’re using “booze” as an analogue for hormone therapies, trans affirming surgeries etc.

Looks that way to me too.

It looks like they think that if you can get a trans person to not go through with transitioning, go back to living as their birth sex, using the pronouns of their birth sex and going by their birth name, that’s equivalent to helping an alcoholic stop drinking.
