I just looked that up, here on Wikipedia…I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the states that allow that are all in the South! (plus Indiana for some reason) I was actually somewhat surprised to find that in my home state of Michigan, corporal punishment was legal in public schools until 1989. I was in those schools myself for most of the ’80s, but I never experienced any of that, nor did I ever know of it done to anybody else.

Apparently, it was mainly in Flint, Bendle, Owosso, Lake Fenton and Flushing.
