In the 1980 election, Reagan/Bush ran against Jimmy Carter with Walter Mondale as his VP. In 1984, Reagan/Bush ran against Mondale with Geraldine Ferraro as his VP. Considering that Mondale is from Minnesota and most of the time presidential candidates at least take their own state, that’s not actually surprising at all.
Minneapolis was historically a city of predominately white Christian citizens.
Yeah, look into the concept of the Sundown Town. At least 1 suburb in the Minneapolis area, Edina, was explicit in their not allowing blacks and Jews to live there. Other suburbs did the same but are less prove-able because most of these towns never officially put laws about these on the books.
Also, stop trying to consecrate Russia. It’s already Russian orthodox. I know you people think the communists killed every single last Christian standing but they didn’t, the communists were actually much harder on the Jews because their culture was considered so subversive.
@Bastethotep: it’s a real church and there’s also an incident associated with it that some boys saw the Virgin Mary there sometime in 1917, and apparently some people think it has to do with fighting communism in some way.
