At first this seemed like it was going for a flat Earth argument…

At the equator. In Georgia, it’s about 800 mph. In DC about 750.

If that’s so, how come day and night?
If that’s so, how come weather?
If you have no idea you’re moving, how do you know you’re moving at 755.34 mph?
Is there anyone there to tell you what ‘no idea’ actually means?

If there is a creator, she made gravity and inertia just like she made the inner ear. Continuity fail.

How does this work even on stupid people?

The reason we don’t feel the motion is because we, the crust, and the atmosphere are synchronized. You feel rapid motion when some part of you isn’t quite at the same speed, whether because of inertia or resistance.

Another of those “gravity is just God holding people down” types. Sadly it’s something I’ve seen even in people who were not Flat Earthers.

Wait, is she actually a flat-earther, or at least has been listening to some? I thought flat-earthers were the only people who actually talked about anything “spinning at X miles per hour”….

(since as you probably know, that doesn’t make any damn sense!! If you have a car with a tachometer in the gauges, does it read in MPH? Noooo, it’s in RPM!! Or for that matter, hey, she’s a little older than me, so she probably has seen record players…those didn’t have a switch between different MPH settings, did they??)

I JUST wrote our training module on missile testing, The guidance system’s able to measure our Earth’s rotation, as a velocity affecting accuracy. Saying ‘even tied to the wharf, the submarine is moving East at 834 mph’ makes more sense than in RPM.
In targeting, we also talk about the target moving at whatever mph, so we have to calculate that.

Of you wanted people to believe in god, using real facts not bullshit helps.

At least she's not a flat earther. That said that isn't even strange. As long as movement is constant you don't really feel like you are moving in a plane ether. The reason we don't feel it is because it's a smooth uninterrupted ride.

Exactly, time spent in cars and elevators should give her experience in why we don’t feel this movement. We’d sure feel it if the Earth suddenly stopped, though.

Maybe she’s thinking of roller coasters? Water skiing? But then, the air and conveyance aren’t synchronized in those cases, so inertia will definitely be a factor.
