Um, we used birth control, and an abortion, and we have three kids.
My sister’s husband brought home so many STD’s she’s now sterile. Could have used a little birth control, there, at least the barrier types.

Reminder that large families existed because before vaccines and antibiotics, kids died a lot. Also during the gilded age poorer adults died a lot as well, mostly from cholera, childbirth, or factory accidents.

Considering that our world population has reached 8 billion...

And large families were necessary because children helped their parents on the farm or in the workshops.
