The only thing I'll give the OP a slight pass on, is if a stores' employees are racist and unhelpful, I'd not want to go back either.

Granted I'm more likely to believe they just were unhelpful (be it not wanting to work, tired, lazy, busy helping other people, or even just not jumping over to serve and instead waiting for someone to ask for help) than racist.

But yeah, that word is a special one. The biggest reason why is that it's really the only racial slur I know of that members of the group the slur targets uses it. It has led to a weird flux of in group/out group reactions, focus on inflection (gga vs gger, for example), varying opinions in the targeted demographic, and other variables.

Personally, I'm of the "If offensive, don't use it" camp but if people want to dilute and replace the negative connotations, go for it. It's not like a certain word being generally looked at as verboten has ever stopped dumb racist fuckwits.

This trope is a Pet peeve of mine. Sure, a word might not have a good way pronounced well in English, the Khoisan languages being the first that comes to mind. But any word can be translated into English. That's what "translation" means. Some nuance might be hard to translate, but whatever. English is pretty good about at least defining a word through translation.

Sad, for example. If there was an alien word that meant sad, we'd look at the severity. We've got a bunch of words to describe what type of sad, like unhappy, crestfallen, distraught, morose, sorrowful, dejected, depressed, etc. And even if there isn't a word for word translation, something like (being cats and all) let's say the Feline word for sad this time, Vayongraff, means "the sadness one feels when you want to knock things off a table, but there is nothing to knock off." It's still translatable.

However, BLM exists because of the issue of law enforcement, who are supposed to be helping people, are often times unjust towards people of color and when there is a black person killed by police when they should not be protected by qualified immunity either get no repercussions or a slap on the wrist. One of the reasons for the prevalence of gang violence in the black community is that a large amount of black people do not trust the police to help them. People who are sworn to uphold the law.

Until that issue is mitigated or resolved, solving gang violence will be a harder task.

People generally tend to view a character swap (gender, race, sexuality, etc) as an annoying gimmick, especially if they don't really do anything with it. New and original ideas coupled with well written characters is a better way to get diversity that "Well, Captain DeathPunch now is a woman. Have we told you they are a woman now?"

4. The tetragrammaton isn't divided into 3rds, numnuts. It's the four letters of Yahweh. YHWH. It's isn't synonymous with the Triune god, or the Trinity.

1. Humans aren't hairless apes, the hair is just finer than in other extant apes.
2. Humanity has known about the Earth being spherical since before the Freemasons were a thing, it can't be a plot of theirs.
3. The vengeful deity is only a percentage of religions, and even then only a smaller subsection of more Protestant sects are deterministic.
4. Christians don't consider Jesus "Half man/half god" and a tiny percentage of Christians believe in the Rapture.

The main issues I have with the Rittenhouse case are
1. Illegally purchasing a firearm.
2. Crossing state lines with said firearm.
3. Not turning himself in after the first shooting.
4. The police not even stopping him for questioning when dozens of people claim he shot someone.

Now, even with an illegal firearm, if a group of people are chasing you and someone fires a shot... yeah. Defending yourself is ok. And correct me if I'm wrong, but Rosenbaum seemed to be the most "fair" instance of self defense. He was actively leading people and pursuing a retreating person. The main reason, it seems is that Rosenbaum had set a dumpster on fire and Rittenhouse, among others, had put it out. And then Rosenbaum chased Rittenhouse, led others to chase him, throwing things at him, finally shooting a gun into the air to stop Rittenhouse from fleeing.

The third was the least self defense, with Grosskreutz approaching Rittenhouse as an active shooter and aiming to disarm him and presumably turn him to the police. He is very lucky that he wasn't just shot, what with that "good guy with a gun taking out bad guys" mentality some people have.
