Several problems with that: As was already said, public schools are pretty much controlled by the states. If you're going to talk about the Department of Education, that's part of the executive branch, so that's not covered by Article 1 anyway. (Which is about Congress...but I thought someone who's such and expert on the Constitution would know that)

Bullshit, that’s an utter lie. Students are not prohibited from praying, you just can’t have a teacher or staff member leading a prayer. I’d think Christians would be in favor of that in public schools, since there’s absolutely no guarantee the teacher or whoever would be a follower of their particular flavor of Christianity, or even a Christian at all, for that matter. If you want your child indoctrinated into your religion as a part of their education, that’s what private religious schools are for.
