Uh… that’s not at all what’s going on with Ms. Marvel, unsurprisingly given who said this and the blatant anti-muslim bullshit found within the writing, so everything he says about her is both wrong and full of shit.

As for the comic itself from what I’ve read, I like the concept and it fits Marvel thing although I do dislike is how the character doesn’t seem to question the hypocrisy and blatant sexism within Islam in regards to interfaith marriages, as she does like a non-muslim enough to say that if he was a Muslim she would be dating him (or her parents would try and set up a arrange marriage, which I have issues with too) but doesn’t due to his faith, yet when one looks into Islam specifically mentions interfaith marriages being aok between a Muslim man and a non-Muslim woman but not the inverse. Now the character is young compared to the rest of the Marvel characters in terms of stories and the like and maybe at some point in the future Ms.Marvel writers actually talk about this and better yet that a Muslim woman is the one writing it and have some subtle critiques of the faith, specifically the double-standard it has for interfaith marriages as there are Muslim woman who are married to non-Muslim men in real life and they’re still Muslim so it shouldn’t stop people from marrying someone outside of their faith.

you have to remember Abortion has been the primary culture war issue that the Republicans had used for decades and all the recent culture war issues don’t have nearly as much of an impact as abortion has had, it’s why the Republicans never truly went against it even back when the “moral majority” had dominance in American politics in the 1980s, they intend to use it and not actually addressing it because they knew it’ll harm them more then it’ll harm their political rivals.

As awful as this is… I can’t help but think of the political and electoral ramifications this would bring, for one it would take the wind out of the sails of the fundamentalist who vote for Republicans so that means Republicans are going to lose a good chunk of their voting base, then you have Democrats and Independents being fired up as a result who will try and vote against the Republicans due to this unprecedented move by the Supreme Court, turning an ensured victory for the Republicans into an ensured victory for the Democrats instead simply because the majority of Americans got pissed off at Republicans for ensuring this happened in the first place, remember, majority of Americans support the right to have a abortion (59%), as well as being able to marry outside of ones’ race (94%), and gay marriage (70%), basically this is just a vocal minority getting their way for a little while before getting drowned by the majority, granted you’ll see plenty of Red States banning it outright but things like interracial marriage and gay marriage are going to be safe because of how overwhelming the support for that is, not to mention that one of the judges is a black marriage to a white woman so he’ll vote against any decision that’d goes against interracial marriages, so its’ not quite as doom and glom as people think… at least I hope…

You know the second point in the reaction section I kindof agree with, though to an extent, I say that should technology get to the point where one can determine rather or not a transperson is going to be born, might as well help ensure they are given treatment, though I say we need laws in place to prevent people having abortions based on rather or not the child is homosexual, transperson, or what have you, just as there should be laws in place to prevent folks from aborting a child due to their gender specifically.
