I knew I was bi from the time I was a very little girl. I had crushes on boys and girls. I never said anything because I thought this was how everyone was. It was only when I started learning about sex in school that I realized there was a name for my experience. I also very quickly learned there is something “wrong” with it and I should hide those feelings in order make everyone else comfortable. When I was finally ok with who I was and started coming out to people, I ran into this very unhelpful sentiment a lot: “if you’ve never been with a woman you can’t say you’re bi”. At the time I hadn’t been with anyone so when they’d say this I’d respond with something like “if I said was straight would you act the same way?” To which they’d respond with some sort of muttered version of “well, that’s different.”

Then they try to “catch” you not being bi. I’m not sure what they’re looking for because I’m bi regardless of what I’m doing. If I’m dating a man, I’m still bi. If I’m dating a woman I’m still bi. If I’m eating lunch with friends or dinner with family I’m not out with, I’m still bi. If I’m doing round off back handsprings on top of a stoplight post, I’m still bi. Etc, etc, etc…

We can actually see individual beds where there was flooding because the stuff in them is random shit from all over the flood area all jumbled together.

The study was so poorly conducted and the premises so biased that Regnerus’s own university denounced it. Universities don’t do that unless things are really bad. Contrary to what people like ROL think, universities are not really all that liberal and most will do anything to avoid bad press. Denouncing this person was bad press they chose to take because the alternative of saying they felt nothing was wrong with the study was worse. For an example, look at the sexual abuse and harassment cases against faculty. Most of that shit gets pushed under the rug until a situation is so bad they start fighting it to avoid press and usually then it’s too late.

For twenty years -- in fact, up until the articles published by Loren Marks and Mark Regnerus in 2012 -- research into same-sex families was conducted under duress. A central principle of research is that studies cannot be trusted if it is clear that certain findings would result in reprisals against the researchers.

So, like I said in my other post on this guy, they think all research is conducted the way fundies do it - it’s all a con job and everybody’s getting kickbacks and there’s “pressure” to say the right thing. The only pressure there is in real science is to produce good science, which the Regnerus et al study was not.

The Regnerus study started with a very biased premise and specifically only analyzed data that conformed to that premise. Then the ways the study was done is just a heaping load of terrible science. This was capped off by a ton of conflict of interest because the study was mainly funded by anti-LGBTQ+ groups. Members of these groups were made into paid consultants and then those same consultants were the ones who did the peer-reviewing. There so many issues with this study that both the American Sociological Association and UT Austin (the school he works at) have denounced it.

Bigots serve shit and pretend it’s ice cream. Then they get mad when others don’t go along with it. I think they assume this is how all science is done.

You need to protect doctors and make sure abortion laws are set without exceptions, anything less and the entire nation is as filthy as California.

So basically you want to give doctors a legal out when refusing to treat patients they don’t want to. This would be an absolute disaster for many different groups and a lot of people would die and it would have wide-ranging ramifications I’m guessing you’re not considering. But I’m guessing that’s secretly part of the goal for you. You sound like the kind of person who would love it if a whole bunch of minorities you don’t like die
