“Deep down, everyone is inherently racist and homophobic, and anyone who claims otherwise is lying or delusional”. I’ve heard this expressed in many different ways, including in terms of disgust triggers like the above. I understand where it comes from, but I reject the claim that everyone experiences it the same way, because I know people don’t.
On the issue of racism, I can accept that there are be people who experience an uncanny valley effect on seeing someone who looks “too different” from themselves. That’s not really an excuse, though. There are also people who experience an uncanny valley effect upon seeing babies and/or children. Most of them recognize that it’s a them problem, they don’t form child hate groups. (Most of them. Child hate groups, while rare, unfortunately do exist…) That’s not most people, that’s not even the only cause of racism, and if that’s how you experience it then it’s something you need to learn to cope with because there’s unfortunately not much to be done about it at present. Racism is not a good cope.
As for homosexuality, well… humans are a mess of attractions, desires, disgust triggers, disgust trigger inhibitors, and disgust trigger anti-inhibitors, all of which vary as much between individuals as sex drives… which is to say, a lot. In the aggregate it’s “good enough” to insure that there’s a next generation and that STDs don’t get too out of control, but on the individual level, people are all over the place. If other people having same-sex relations are a genuine source of revulsion for you, then that’s a you problem and you need to find a better way to cope than homophobia.
(I overuse the phrase “Have you ever met a human?” so instead I’m going to go with this: https://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/humans-2 [Safe-ish For Work])
