The FBI does have a problem with creating the terrorists they are supposed to be hunting. Informants tend to unreliable and undercover agents want to find a case and be done quickly. Both tend to make the situation they are involved with worse and tend to overstate the case.

The state prosecutor was being practical, there was a clear cut pile of reckless endangerment charges and multiple murder charges. Darrell Brooks might have had hurting whites as one of his goals but the attack was a spur of the moment thing. There was no evidence connecting it to his black supremacy religious beliefs. Why even investigate the possibility of racial hate crime? They already had enough for multiple life sentences.

If they had been paying attention they would have noticed also that Alex Jones didn’t try to defend himself by saying his information was true. If could have provided any hard evidence he probably would have won the case because the truth can’t be slander no matter how unpleasant.
